The original 1990 Census Federal place code boundaries layer was developed as a coverage named city90a by The Teale Data Center (Steve Flatt 916-263-1499). Rr_city90a.shp was created by Circuit Rider Productions, Inc. Rr_city90a represents the polygons that are cities or census designated places or are unclassified as to type of the Russian River basin. Polygon features from the original source data were selected based on their spatial location within the extent of the Russian River basin. . This metadata file incorporates information that is specific to this layer as well as information that is available in the original metadata file for the 1990 Census Federal place code boundaries layer (city90a.txt). The portions of this metadata file that borrow text from city90a.txt are indicated in quotation marks.

"DATA QUALITY ASSESSMENT:
The following are subjective comments regarding this data.

The current layer, based on TIGER data, is complete with
respect to cities in California. It is TIGER-based and where
TIGER is based on DLG, the accuracy is good; however, where
TIGER uses GBF/DIME, the accuracy can be poor. The attribute
accuracy is good. The polygons correspond well to the corporate
boundaries seen in other map sources."

FLAG: 1 equals city, 0 equals all other types. Cities represented
by 2 or more polygons will have only one polygon flagged
with a '1' so that the city name can be displayed only once.

NAME: Name of the place.

TYPE: Type of place, whether a city, a census designated
place or blank. Valid values are blank, city, and
