The original CHINESU coverage was created by National Marine
Fisheries Service and Bonneville Power Administration. The CHINESU
dataset represents the original source dataset from which the
rr_chinesu.shp layer was derived. Rr_chinesu.shp was created by
Circuit Rider Productions, Inc. and it represents a reprojected
version of the CHINESU coverage. The contact for the original
source data is Steve Stone (NMFS, Steve.Stone@noaa.gov , (503)231-2317)
and Eric Lowrance (Bonneville Power Administration, eblowrance@bpa.gov
, (503)230-5759). The portions of this metadata file
that borrow text from the original source dataset metadata file
(CHINESU.met) are indicated in quotation marks.

Title: rr_chinesu
Geospatial_Data_Presentation_Form: vector digital data
"ESU boundaries were compiled from various sources based on
written descriptions in
National Marine Fisheries Service(NMFS) status reviews (available
upon request) and
mapping provided by NMFS. Initial boundaries were derived from USGS
1:250,000
scale hydrologic unit boundaries. Boundaries were modified based on
migration
blockages and known fish distribution. Drainage basin delineation
from blockages was
based on 1:100,000 stream hydrography and/or and available digital
topography(1:250,000)."
Purpose:
"ESU polygons depict major basins within the current known
range of each ESU. Species
do not necessarily inhabit all drainages or river reaches depicted.
More detailed
information on species distribution within each ESU is available from
NMFS and other
Federal, state, and tribal resources."
Supplemental Information:
"NOTE: ESA status information is not current. For details on
descriptions of the ESU's
and their status, contact NMFS.
No liability is assumed for the accuracy or completeness of the
ESU information."
